Vieux Bourgogne limestone

It is increasingly difficult to acquire genuine reclaimed flagstones.

 

So Artisans has worked closely with the producer of Vieux Bourgogne limestone to perfect a Weathered finish, which replicates all of the qualities of reclaimed flagstones.

 

This exquisite, French limestone has highly unusual variations of colour, ranging from caramel to greyish blue, which enables it to blend perfectly with stone that has been quarried hundreds of years ago.


Hand Finished to Perfection

Artisans Weathered finish is created by hand-fettering the edges of the stone. We heavily etch and then smooth the surface to produce an open grain finish that mellows to an antique patina.

 

This creates a beautiful stone that is virtually indistinguishable from actual reclaimed flagstone and is far stronger than the compound versions that are sometimes used to match old floors and terraces.

 

And, of course, we can guarantee an ongoing supply.
